Cellulite Removal in Singapore

Cellulite is a common concern that affects many, appearing primarily in areas like the thighs and legs. Characterised by a dimpled, uneven skin texture, it can impact individuals of all body types and sizes.

At our slimming centre in Singapore, the cellulite reduction treatment aims to address both the skin’s appearance and underlying causes. The recommended approach may include the use of laser therapy and radiofrequency treatments, which aim to improve the skin texture. These methods, varying in procedure and intensity, are designed to cater to different cellulite types and individual needs.

Some possible benefits of these cellulite reduction treatments include:

  • Non-invasive Approach
  • Minimal Downtime
  • No Pill Consumption
  • Natural Slimming Process

Causes of Cellulite

Cellulite occurs due to a combination of factors, each influencing the skin’s appearance in various ways. By understanding these underlying causes, our slimming professionals will recommend treatment approaches that may be helpful depending on your conditions.

 Hormonal Factors

Hormones play a significant role in the development of cellulite. Fluctuations in oestrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin may contribute to the formation and appearance of cellulite, particularly in areas like the thighs and hips.

Lifestyle Choices

Your daily habits also play a crucial role in cellulite formation. A sedentary lifestyle, poor dietary choices, and insufficient hydration can contribute to the development of cellulite. Lack of exercise can lead to decreased circulation and lymphatic drainage, exacerbating the appearance of cellulite.

 Age and Skin Thickness

Our skin loses elasticity and thickness as we age, leading to thinner skin and a weaker support network for underlying tissues. This natural process can make cellulite more visible.

Genetics

You’ll have a higher chance of having cellulite if your mother or grandmother has it. Race, gender, hormonal fluctuations, and the inherent distribution of fat cells, coupled with a slow metabolism, can all play a role in how likely it is.

What Type of Cellulite Do You Have?

Cellulite varies in appearance and severity, ranging from mild dimpling to more pronounced lumpiness. However, it can be difficult to identify which type you have without help from a professional. Here’s a breakdown of the different grades of cellulite and how to spot them:

Mild Cellulite (Grade 1)

This type appears as a slight dimpling of the skin, often visible only when pinching the skin. To check for mild cellulite, you can stand in front of a mirror under bright light and gently pinch the skin on your thighs, buttocks, or abdomen. If you see shallow, subtle dimples appear only when the skin is compressed, and the skin looks smooth otherwise, you likely have Grade 1 cellulite.

These dimples might also be more noticeable when you cross your legs or sit in certain positions, but they disappear when you release the skin. Addressing this type of cellulite may require a focus on subtle enhancements and preventive care to maintain skin smoothness and prevent its progression.

Moderate Cellulite (Grade 2)

More noticeable than mild cellulite, this type exhibits deeper dimpling and is often compared to cottage cheese in texture. To identify moderate cellulite, observe your skin while standing normally in front of a mirror. You’ll notice visible dimpling and a slightly uneven texture, even without pinching or manipulating the skin. The dimples are more pronounced than in Grade 1, and the skin may appear somewhat loose or wavy.

If you press on the affected area, the skin will also feel noticeably less smooth, with a distinct orange-peel-like texture. The treatment may be intensified to address more pronounced dimpling, employing a combination of RF energy and laser therapy for deeper fat breakdown and skin tightening.

Severe Cellulite (Grade 3)

Characterised by large, deep, and more pronounced lumps and bumps on the skin, it is the most visible form of cellulite. Severe cellulite is usually easily identifiable by the significant unevenness and roughness of the skin’s surface. With this type of cellulite, large, deep depressions and raised lumps are visible regardless of posture or lighting. The skin will feel rough and bumpy to the touch.

You can also often see the cellulite through clothing, and the dimpling is very obvious even when you are lying down. This type of cellulite usually affects larger areas of the body and can cause discomfort or tenderness. Addressing this type of cellulite may require utilising all treatment modalities, including deep heat therapy, shockwave therapy, and muscle toning technologies, to help minimise the appearance and improve skin elasticity.

Cellulite Treatments at V Aesthetics Body Slim

Cellulite’s persistence is a common concern, often becoming more apparent with age as skin loses elasticity and fat distribution changes. Hence, laser treatments and other removal methods are increasingly being considered to address cellulite. They offer a possible option for individuals looking to potentially improve their skin’s appearance in a less invasive manner, though results and experiences can differ from person to person.

Some of the non-surgical treatments for cellulite reduction include our signature treatment, V Slim™ and RF slimming. These are designed to manage the appearance of cellulite by:

Key features of V Slim™ include:

  • Tightening and releasing fibrous tissue bands
  • Reducing excess subcutaneous fat beneath the skin
  • Enhancing overall skin texture and elasticity

Other treatments, such as V BodySculptor, are also available to further refine your silhouette.

Non-Invasive Cellulite Treatments

V Slim™

V Slim™ offers a potentially comprehensive approach to cellulite removal, addressing stubborn areas with a unique 3-in-1 technology. This treatment aims to simultaneously break down fat deposits, refine body contours, and enhance muscle tone, leading to a smoother, more defined appearance. By addressing problem zones, V Slim™ aims to potentially diminish the visible signs of cellulite, promoting a more confident silhouette.

RF Slimming

RF Slimming uses controlled radiofrequency heat to stimulate fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen and elastin production. This aims to strengthen the skin’s underlying structure, potentially reducing the appearance of cellulite. By enhancing skin elasticity and firmness, RF Slimming also aims to smooth out dimpled areas and improve overall skin texture, contributing to a more even and toned look.

How V Slim™ Targets and Reduces Cellulite

The V Slim™ procedure combines Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), Radio Frequency (RF) energy, and Amplitude Modulated Middle Frequency (AMF) to target and reduce cellulite. These scientifically backed methods aim to potentially reduce cellulite and enhance skin appearance and texture, providing a non-invasive approach for individuals in Singapore seeking to minimise the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.

A study has found that a unipolar RF device can help improve the appearance of cellulite. This device has been found to achieve a noticeable reduction in cellulite, as evidenced by a bilateral paired comparative study which utilised a novel quantitative four-point cellulite grading system. Such studies help affirm the potential efficacy of RF energy in cellulite reduction and skin-tightening treatments.

Targets and Reduces Cellulite

The Low-Level Laser approach employs 658nm low-intensity lasers to penetrate the skin, targeting cellulite. This method may result in temporary pores in cellulite cell membranes, which then release stored fat cells. These fat cells are subsequently metabolised by the body, contributing to a potential reduction in cellulite and improvement in overall skin texture.

Improves Cellulite and Skin Texture

RF energy provides controlled deep heat to targeted areas, reaching temperatures of 42 – 45°C. This heat intensifies the breakdown of fat tissues underlying the cellulite and accelerates the body’s metabolism. Unlike fat freezing, radiofrequency energy can help improve skin texture and reduce the dimpling characteristic of cellulite. This method supports the body’s natural processes and potentially improves cellulite appearance, especially at the legs and thighs.

Strengthens and Tones Affected Areas

AMF technology uses modulated electrical currents, ranging from 1 to 4000Hz, to induce natural muscle contractions in the targeted areas. These contractions, like those experienced during intense physical exercise, target the muscle groups beneath the cellulite. By strengthening and toning these muscles, this method can improve muscle definition and reduce cellulite’s appearance, enhancing muscle tone and skin firmness.

Cellulite Treatment Process

The process begins with a consultation, where our slimming professionals assess the grade of your cellulite and discuss your aesthetic goals. Based on this assessment, we may recommend a treatment plan suited to your needs, taking into account factors such as skin type and severity of cellulite.

During the treatment, you may experience a warm sensation. This is a normal response, indicating that the technologies are helping to reduce fat cells, minimising the appearance of cellulite.

Throughout the procedure, our team will closely monitor your experience and adjust the settings as necessary to ensure optimum comfort. Each session may last between 30 and 60 minutes, but this can vary depending on the treatment area and the methods used.
